Coming Home Next Weekend

Grandma say,

Their favorite thing to play with right now is a small rope that has knots on each end. I am sending home one for them. Something else they are really enjoying is a old pantyhose that is knotted a million times.

Stools are softer than I want. I am going to start mixing half of the Taste of the Wild with half Eukanuba. Eukanuba has fillers which will help stiffen it up. This will pass with age and eventually I want them weaned to just the Taste of the Wild.

Potty habits are interesting with this litter. They actually have me confused. I have never had a litter that sleeps in the litterbox and uses the paper outside of the box. I think since they are smaller than my past litters they are a little less mature. They walked before their eyes opened and took forever to cut teeth. Just like with kids, they do things at different ages. This is OK but I just want you to be aware of it and have patience. They may take longer to work with on potty habits or they could just surprise us all and one day it clicks. They all love being picked up and given kisses. If somebody is crying and not sitting pretty, they won’t get picked up. Make it a habit not to pick them up out of their area if they are crying at you. They will use it to their advantage. Just like Armani. He knows the second he goes outside that he quickly does his business and then barks. If he barks he has me trained to come let him in. Being as long furred as he is, he gets super hot quickly.

Eyes Open

Grandma says,

This morning everyone had their eyes open. I had so much fun watching them trying to walk this morning I was late to work :0( They get up, walk a couple of steps and then fall over, get up and do it all over again. They are so fat that they just don’t fall over then actually roll over and over. Holly is still going strong with feeds and has plenty of milk. We will be de-worming for the first time in a couple of days. This litter seems to be ahead in all their milestones.

Vet Check

Grandma says,

Dr. Graef said everyone looks great and had beautiful markings. No problems with the tails and dewclaws, he uses lidocaine too! They did cry pretty much all night except little TJ who was very content, he got to keep his tail. Back to exercises this morning with my morning coffee. Nobody really complains anymore and actually seems like they like it!! They really are squirming everywhere, all eating good. I have to tell you a funny story. When a mother dog nurses her babies she usually lays on her side and then the babies line up and nurse. Holly last night was spread eagle on her back and they were lined up along each side of her nursing. It looks like little pigs laying there nursing. By the time I got back with the camera she moved.
